The Client

Newlon Housing Trust is a not for profit Community Benefit Society and a charitable housing association. Newlon owns or manages around 8,200 affordable homes, primarily in nine boroughs in north and east London, with many more in development.

Amber Construction Services Ltd were appointed to deliver recladding works to Albemarle Court, which is at the heart of Hale Village. The block of 110 affordable flats, which is fully occupied, has two communal roof gardens, and a large central courtyard.

The works

Amber Construction were appointed for the removal and replacement of cementitious rain screen external cladding and aluminium cladding/composite cladding to balconies, together with horizontal and vertical fire stopping and all associated works to the fully occupied 7-storey residential block.

Associated works included:

We conducted pull out tests of existing fixings following removal of panels. Installation of new cladding matches existing layout, fixing to existing retained cladding rails.
As part of the fire safety works, we are completed horizontal and vertical fire stopping and full fire compartmentation programme

CCTV installation to residential/commercial entrances and associated cabling fixed to cladding
Door entry system and associated wiring fixed to cladding
Circular downlighters fixed to balcony soffit cladding to north elevation

Aluminium rainwater downpipes
